Robotics feasibility study

Check gripping, cycle time and layout before selecting a robot and pricing the cell.

Your starting point

Robotics feasibility study

For a plant considering automation that still needs to validate gripping, arm selection or the business case.

Scope to agree

01

Review the operation, flows, part variants and plant constraints.

02

Shortlist compatible robot geometries and gripping principles.

03

Study paths and arrange the required gripping or process trials.

04

Identify interfaces, responsibilities and pricing assumptions.

Prepare the work

Information to share with us.

  • Part drawings or samples, mass, dimensions and known variations.
  • Current and required throughput, volumes and batch changes.
  • Workstation layout, existing machines and access constraints.

Acceptance and limitations

The review states which decisions the study supports, its assumptions and the validation still required. Simulation results remain distinct from physical trials.

The quotation distinguishes equipment supply, integration, trials and services after commissioning. Open points remain identified.

Applications

Connect the service to your process.

ESTUN robot handling a panel above a stack at the end of a line.

Palletising and depalletising

Stack cases, bags or totes at the end of the line. The project connects the gripper, conveyors and pallet patterns to your production requirements.

Information and trials

Machine tending

Load and unload a machining centre, lathe or another production machine. The cell coordinates part gripping, doors, clamping and machine states.

Information and trials
ESTUN industrial cell with robot arms, fixtures and conveyors.

Robotic welding

Repeat weld seams on fixtured parts. Integration combines the robot, torch, power source and positioner with the selected welding process.

Information and trials

Material handling and part transfer

Move, orient and place parts between workstations. Arm selection starts with actual gripping requirements and interfaces to conveyors, presses or inspection stations.

Information and trials
ESTUN SCARA robots inside an automated installation.

Assembly and screwdriving

Present, insert or fasten components in a controlled sequence. The cell connects handling to inspection equipment and rejected-part management.

Deburring, sanding and polishing

Repeat a tool path over a part or present a part to a fixed tool. Process development covers contact force, consumable wear and the required surface finish.

Information and trials

Robotic sheet-metal bending

Load a press brake and reposition sheet metal between bends. The cell must hold the part, follow the bending sequence and manage regripping.

Sorting, picking and packing

Pick products, orient them and place them in packaging or the next workstation. Feeding and gripping are designed around actual variations in product flow.

Project questions

Before choosing a robot.

Must ESTUN already be selected?

No. The study starts with your operation. It checks whether an ESTUN model meets the need and which points to compare with another proposal.

Can the study conclude that automation is unsuitable?

Yes. Unstable gripping, an uncontrolled process or batch changes can make an option unsuitable. The review explains the limitations found.

Let’s talk about your workshop

An operation to automate?

Tell us about your parts, cycle times and constraints. We define the first checks with you.
